Like all of you, I hate when people park next to me in parking lots and do what I can to avoid it. So I was happy when I discovered this at my local Walmart.
Two cart corrals with a space inbetween. This has the added benefit that, because it's Walmart, nobody uses the corrals and I don't even have to worry about stray carts. There's no downside!

I never park near a cart stall. You’d be surprised how many kids will aim for the stall from far away, and miss.

I’m with you.

I’ve never gone out of my way to park away from other cars, and I don’t think I’ve ever had a door ding or scratch.

Parking away in a nice car is just asking people to park near you.

I usually park far away because I find it bothers me less than waiting for someone to leave a spot or other desperate wouldbe parkers.
That said, regardless of distance, I always try to grab a corner when possible. Then I only have to worry about one person parking next to me and I can can leave a ton of space on the open side.

Ironically, I tend to try to find places like that just because my car has long-ass coupe doors and it’s hard to get out of even if the person next to me parked properly.
And yeah, I never wait for people. I just take whatever spot I can find.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure this just increases the chances of getting hit. Too many careless people with carts around, all poorly targeting the cart returns.

If I was driving a nicer car I'd probably care about the carts. I mostly do it so that nobody parks close to my door and makes it difficult to get in my truck. My truck is so rusty and scratched, there's nothing a cart can do to it.

Well in that case carry on.

Like 15 minutes after that, I went to Target and a dude was parked probably 30 spots further away from the store than everybody else. And it was raining. And his car was a Nissan Frontier. I was so, so confused.

Maybe he needs the exercise?
Even when I had a beater XJ Cherokee I would park far away. Now I try not to be so obvious about it. I’ll park 5-7 spots from the last car. As if the store might of been busier when I arrived. There’s a good chance most people will park in the closest spots to the store, but there’s a slight chance it does get busier while I’m inside and there will be cars parked next to me when I walk out.

If it was nice out I’d say maybe, but man it was POURING outside.
You’re right to not be obvious...when you make a point to park far away, that’s how you get the jerk that intentionally parks right next to you just because.

I have a similar picture of the worst car I’ve ever owned.
